My Story...

I come from, what I like to call, a "medically-challenged" family.

The maternal side battles obesity, diabetes, heart-related issues... I don't know much about the medical history of my paternal side except that Dent's disease (kidney disease) runs on the male side of the family and my grandfather had a heart attack when I was 5. Needless to say, with my Dad passing away before he was 40 and my Mom passing before 50, longevity isn't a word we bounce around lightly.

I had always been a sturdy girl. The bottom of the pyramid in cheerleading, the "chunky arms", thighs like mighty oaks... I was never condiered "fat" or "obese - just big.
